Students will improve phonological awareness, decoding and encoding skills and increase vocabulary. This is an instructional strategy using the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of physical settings, special equipment and materials, teaching procedures, and other interventions designed to help learners with special needs achieve the greatest possible personal self‐sufficiency and success in school and community.

The tutorial support class is designed to increase academic performance and accountability for special education students enrolled in general education courses.  The focus is on empowering students to take responsibility for their learning, and developing organizational and student skill strategies that will help them succeed in school.
