Seaside High School Hosts Haunted Homecoming Parade, Tailgate, and Kick-Off Parade

For the first time ever, Seaside High School invites students, families, and the broader Seaside community to participate in this year’s Haunted Homecoming Parade and Tailgate celebration on Friday, October 25, 2024. The events promise to be fun-filled, combining the excitement of a parade, tailgate, and homecoming game with the festive spirit of Halloween.

“We want this year’s homecoming and all our activities to truly reflect and include our entire community,” said Aaron Sanders, Seaside High School Principal. “As one of Seaside's six new community schools, our goal is to create events that not only unite but celebrate our diverse community. This is just the beginning of what we envision—a school driven by a mindset of service and connection.”

3:30 p.m. | After-School Homecoming & Community Parade - Open to all Monterey Peninsula Unified School District students (and their families). Students are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and represent their schools by carrying banners. Parade participants will begin lining up at 3:00 p.m. at the K-Wing Bus Loop on Seaside High’s campus.

4:30 p.m. | Community Tailgate - Featuring local food trucks, lawn games, and a festive Trick-or-Trunk in front of Seaside High School coordinated by SHS clubs and local organizations. Parents and guardians across the community are encouraged to attend with their children to join in the fun.

5:00 p.m. | JV Game and Kick-Off Parade - The community is invited to the JV and Varsity games. Students in costume—accompanied by their parents or guardians—get into the game free and are invited to join the Kick-Off Parade around the track during the JV halftime at Avila Grey Stadium.
