This year’s theme from the American School Counselor Association is “School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused.”
During the 2023-2024 school year, we have approximately 20 middle and high school counselors. They work with students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, college and career options, and social and emotional skills.
They also offer programs to help increase student achievement and provide helpful resources for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
School counselors help parents focus on ways to further the educational, personal and social growth of their student. They also work with teachers and other educators to help students explore their potential and set realistic goals for themselves.
School counselors seek to identify and utilize community resources to enhance school counseling programs. Comprehensive developmental school counseling programs are considered an integral part of the educational process enabling all students to achieve success in school.
