School News

Family-Teacher Conferences

Conferences are Tuesday-Thursday with class getting out at 2:20pm all three days. We will meet families in the Makerspace in person Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5pm and on Zoom Wednesday.

Please call the office to make your appointment for conferences. We look forward to meeting with families as we work together to best serve students.

Girls Volleyball: Co-League Champions & Playoff Berth

Congratulations to the Spartans Girls Volleyball team! They were co-league champions and advanced to the first round of the playoffs versus Stevenson School. Although they lost in the playoffs, it was a successful season setting the bar high for our teams and represents continuous improvement.

Cross Country Ends Strong

Cross Country competed in league Finals this past weekend at Toro Park. Our hard-working team ran well to finish the season. They await times to hear about qualifications for the next round of the Pacific Coast Athletic League. See the video here.

Attendance Awareness Leads to Improvement

Seaside High's September Attendance Campaign led to a 0.37% growth in Average Daily Attendance and 2.11% decrease in Chronic Absenteeism. Join us in November as we look to improve timely attendance as we know students arriving to school on time not only improves their own outcomes but the well-being of their peers as well.

Families as Partners in Student Learning

Thank you to all the families who participated in Family-Teacher Conferences this past week! We had 170 families attend to meet with teacher and staff in support of students. It is essentially that we work together as a team to ensure students have a team to support their educational career and use graduation from Seaside High School to accelerate their college and career future!

Celebrating Filipino-American Heritage

A huge shout out to our Filipino staff who hosted a Filpino-American Heritage celebration! They shared delicious Filipino dishes representing the various regions of the Philippines. It provided an opportunity for staff to learn more about Filipino culture and cuisine. We appreciate the staff who helped make it happen and helped highlight the diversity of our Spartan staff!

Fall Concert This Thursday

Join us for our Fall Concert in the Makerspace on Thursday, November 5 at 6pm! Our advanced ensembles will be performing to showcase their skills. They have been working hard since the beginning of the year and hosted Friday's Haunted House. We hope you can join us on Thursday to witness their amazing musical skills!

Spartan Athletes Demonstrate Their Leadership

Representatives from Spartan athletics came together last week as part of Student-Athlete Council. These leaders collaborated to help uplift what is going well with our athletic program. Additionally, they identified some challenges in the program and will work together with coaches and school administration to continue to build our athletics program.

Spartans Showcased at Boys & Girls Youth of the Year Banquet

Congratulations to David Zavaleta for being selected as Runner-Up for Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year. His excellent speech shared his family's experience and advocated for greater equity for immigrants. We are proud of David and the other finalists from Seaside High School!

MyPath Club Hosts Red Ribbon Week Activities

Our MyPath Club, in collaboration with Sunstreet Centers, hosted activities throughout the week as part of Red Ribbon Week. This national week brings greater awareness about students use awareness. These student leaders demonstrated their leadership as problem-solvers and continue to work to bring greater awareness to these challenges.
