The Carmel Bach Festival offers schools around the Monterey Bay area the opportunity for small ensembles to visit and perform, coach, and provide clinics for music students. Last Week, a string quartet played for all of the orchestra students and coached students and teacher alike on technique and some of their music.
The bass player in the quartet, Oscar Yañez, is an alumni of Seaside High School (class of 2023), who's currently an English major at UC Berkeley with a music scholarship.
It was a fun and inspiring visit, and we look forward to growing our relationship with the Carmel Bach Festival this year!
