In 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom placed some restrictions on what time schools start at. This bill, known as Senate Bill 328, does not allow middle schools to start before 8 am, and does not allow high schools to start before 8:30 am.
On May 24, 2022, the Board of Education approved MPUSD's start times for middle and high schools. There is no change for elementary schools.
Seaside High School School runs A/B schedules, which consists of 4 blocks everyday.
Mondays and Thursdays are "A' days for 1st - 4th periods. Tuesdays and Fridays are "B" days for 5th - 8th periods.
